if she has an almond eye shape, tell her to do the top of her lashes dark, but to leave the bottom bare- this is just as dramatic, and yet not so-- crazy. (that's what I do now) if her eyes are shaped differently, coax her into going a little lighter on the black. the others suggestions are good too, colors may be an option she would like.
I went through this phase too, I was a little punk rocker and wore black a good inch around my eyes too. trust me, she'll outgrow it.

My suggestion is to get a professional make over ( they are free) by a Mary Kaye consultant, at a MAC counter, at Victoria Secrets or even Fashion Fair, and chose for yourself. I personally stay away from pink. I lean more to the copper, bronze, mauve, or golden colors.
You could probably do either with your skin tone. I think black women have the ability to do so much more than white people in terms of makeup and wardrobe colors! It's not fair!!! LOL
You might want to do the softer colors for when you just want to look cute and the brighter colors for when you want to look sexy and dramatic.

for eyeliner- i dont use eyeliner all that much but when i do i just do it on the insides of my eyelids.
for foundation- just go out and by any that will match your skin tone. i use bare essentials because it makes me feel like i dont have a lot of junk on my face.

Eyes--Almay eyeshadows for Green eyes....Sometimes I do a ';smoky eye'; with dark browns...
Eyeliners--For eyeliners I use eather a Light Black, Brak Brown or a Clear eyeliner (you can get clear at any drug stores)
Foundation--Remember to get get a foudation color at least on shade LIGHTER then your normal skin color=]

Eyes--Almay eyeshadows for Green eyes....Sometimes I do a ';smoky eye'; with dark browns...
Eyeliners--For eyeliners I use eather a Light Black, Brak Brown or a Clear eyeliner (you can get clear at any drug stores)
Foundation--Remember to get get a foudation color at least on shade LIGHTER then your normal skin color=]

My hair is platinum blonde, and my skin usually falls into the ';ivory'; category with foundation. I've never worn much makeup because I don't know what looks good with my complexion and features... mascara seems too dark (I have blonde lashes and brows), and any eye makeup beyond that looks silly. Don't get me started on lipstick, either. I do have freckles, but I don't know if that affects anything.

Clinique (in the mall or online) has something called Almost Makeup. It's very light, has SPF in it, and I LOVE it!
OR
MAC (in the mall or online) has a compact that is Powder/Foundation. It's not really foundation but it gives good coverage.
Bronzer is used to make you look darker.

I find cream based cover ups to help, too, and they don't cause pimples often. (Like maybelline ';mousse'; cover up) It feels quite light on the skin, too. But, your best bet would be powder or ';liquid'; concealer with a matte finish. Don't use anything that's shiny.

well firstly u dont need so much foundation and dont use eyeliner all the time it will close up your eyes rather than opening them and having blue eyes you want to show them so i think u should still wear ur foundation but leave the eyeliner and use some pretty eye shadows and heaps of mascara in a medium brown to go with ur hair

Try to wear a high SPF suncreen when you go outside (like between 50-60 SPF).
You can bleach your skin usuing lemon juice. Just be sure that once your done applying the lemon to the skin and it dries that you use a good mostruizer. the lemon acid causes the skin the be very dry so its relaly important that you do that.
You could also take Glutathione, which is a skin whitener that has no side effects. it also gives you clearer and healthy skin and protects against some forms of cancer!

You can't really lighten your skin without lasers or bleach. But, if you have a Hot Topic around, they sell white foundation that you can either wear alone or mix with your regular foundation.

Try to wear a high SPF suncreen when you go outside (like between 50-60 SPF).
You can bleach your skin usuing lemon juice. Just be sure that once your done applying the lemon to the skin and it dries that you use a good mostruizer. the lemon acid causes the skin the be very dry so its relaly important that you do that.
You could also take Glutathione, which is a skin whitener that has no side effects. it also gives you clearer and healthy skin and protects against some forms of cancer!

You can't unless you stay out of the sun. Your skin may be naturally a tad darker than hers so you'd have to achieve it by make up. Mineral makeup works well.
you need makeup to achieve that porcelain look, but instead of the heavy stuff, use natural looking makeup like truematch which will even out your skin and looks natural, u might also want to try tinted mousterizer for an even more natural look. Good luck!!

I bought a jar of L'Oreal mineral makeup today to try it out, but of course you can't test colors in the drugstore, and when I got it home, it was too light (maybe two shades, but probably only one shade too light). My mother and I would choose clothes and make up complimented my looks. My make up was 'light' and my cloths were tasteful, fit well and accentuted my attributes - AND DID NOT exploit them.
I hope that you and parent are on the same track that my parents and I were on.

For a special occasion like a dance or recital, you might want to ask Mom or Dad if you can wear a light wash of a neutral eyeshadow, a touch of a light blush and maybe curl your lashes in addition to your lipgloss.
Don't rush it! Feel free to play around with makeup at home and watch YouTube makeup tutorial videos for beginners. Remember to wash your face every night! Never sleep with any makeup on! And moisturize every night as well! Good luck!

If you have a Sephora nearby...go play with some make up and see. Use neutral, natural colors such as gold, brown, beige, etc. This will give you some definition, but will allow your natural beautiful colors to be featured.

For blush, go with a light pink or a coral color that will always go very well with tanned skin. As far as your lips are concerned, I would recommend a glossy pink/coral. You can choose a bronze lip color, but make sure it has a lot of gold to the color. You'll want to stay away from ';brown'; as with your complexion it will most likely go muddy on you and it won't compliment or enhance your skin.

I don't think you need to change to brown eyeliner and mascara . I am a blonde and when I wear makeup I always use black mascara . Even if I want a toned down day look , I only apply a very thin line of eyeliner across the top of the lash line , kicked out a tiny bit at the outer corners . It will make your eyes stand out more too ! If you ask me the blacker the mascara the better , just don't use a clumpy one , it suits everyone !Makeup for blonde hair and light eyebrows?

I'm a blonde and although I rarely wear eyeliner these days when I do I would choose black over brown. Brown is more low-key and natrual for any colour hair, not just blonde. Look at the MAC blonde collection for insperation.

First of all you need to figure out your skin tone and get a foundation that looks the closest to it as you can find and go from there. If your not doing anything special that day I really don't see the point of doing anything that drastic with your make up and natural is just fine. If your planning to go out for the evening on a date then you might want to do something a little more dramatic and make your eyes pop with dark mascara, darker eyeliner and some really cool eye shadow. If your going out to a night club and it's time to let your inner wild child out, then go all out with the most dramatic or crazy combo of stuff you can think of. i'm in between, generally just mascara and some pressed powder but then mid-pink to red lipstick, which isn't exactly naturally, but not really crazy and dramatic. i think makeup should be fun, it should make you feel good not just look good. so i love my lipsticks, and i wear them, if that makes me look ';slutty'; or over done, no one has ever said it to my face. i think too much make up is when you can't see someone's features through it, a bit of colour can be an expression of personal style.
Crazy/dramatic is fine for the theater, or when going out at night to party...otherwise, it looks overdone and silly.

First of all you need to figure out your skin tone and get a foundation that looks the closest to it as you can find and go from there. If your not doing anything special that day I really don't see the point of doing anything that drastic with your make up and natural is just fine. If your planning to go out for the evening on a date then you might want to do something a little more dramatic and make your eyes pop with dark mascara, darker eyeliner and some really cool eye shadow. If your going out to a night club and it's time to let your inner wild child out, then go all out with the most dramatic or crazy combo of stuff you can think of. i'm in between, generally just mascara and some pressed powder but then mid-pink to red lipstick, which isn't exactly naturally, but not really crazy and dramatic. i think makeup should be fun, it should make you feel good not just look good. so i love my lipsticks, and i wear them, if that makes me look ';slutty'; or over done, no one has ever said it to my face. i think too much make up is when you can't see someone's features through it, a bit of colour can be an expression of personal style.
Crazy/dramatic is fine for the theater, or when going out at night to party...otherwise, it looks overdone and silly.

What is the best long lasting makeup for someone with light brown hair bown eyes and fair skin?
Go for Loreal Bare Naturale Mineral Make Up because if you've got fair skin then it can be quite easy to end up with foundation lines because the foundation is too dark on some parts of the face. The mineral make up covers well so you're skin will look really good and you won't get make up lines. I also find it last for a long time and I seldom need to reapply so I think that's probably the best bet for your skin and its long lasting.

Well the firt thing you can do is stop lining your bottom lid if you are doing that; this makes already small eyes seem beady. Then try using a liquid liner in a light brown on the eve lid during the day, and maybe a choclate brown liner for going out at night. This give the eye immediate definition and can cause a riot with the fellas if you get great at it! Also try some cool to warm colors like lavender, money green, medium toned blue (experiment with blue; some people don't always pick the perfect blue and end up looking like a granny!). Also, since you are a bare minerals user, go back to the boutique and let the pros set you up with some of their awesome colors! Good Luck!

Because they have your same coloring you will look good in the same things. Why does my mineral makeup look terrible in natural light?
I have pretty bad acne, and I use Everyday Minerals, which covers it really well and looks great when I'm in the bathroom. But once I go outside, it looks terrible. Like orange cakey makeup on a dried up hag (and I'm only 14). They have a ton of foundation shades and I have the lightest and pinkest one and it still looks orange on me, because I'm so pale. It's because the light you put your makeup one in the bathroom is different then the light outside. The lights in the bathroom are emitting a different ';color'; the the light outside. So that shows colors different. Try this take a piece of fabric and look at it's color in the bathroom. Then take it outside on a sunny day. It will look like a different color.
What you need to do is put your makeup on in the same color of light depending on where you will be. For example: If your going to be outside on a sunny day you need to put one color of makeup. If your going to a club you will need to use a different color

Maybe you should try doing your make-up in some form of natural light? .e.g. Infront of a bedroom window...I do mine like that infront of a full lenth mirror.

So that shows colors different. Try this take a piece of fabric and look at it's color in the bathroom. Then take it outside on a sunny day. It will look like a different color.
What you need to do is put your makeup on in the same color of light depending on where you will be. For example: If your going to be outside on a sunny day you need to put one color of makeup. If your going to a club you will need to use a different color

their not light enough..most brands dont have really really light ones..use concelear on your pimples and only use the powder lightly
Use a different brand of foundation. If you like the minerals because they say its natural and good for you then listen up! regular foundation and powder concealer etc.. is just fine. If you wash your face two times a day you will be great trust me im an Esthetician and i been threw this with so many teenagers and concerned parents.

Maybe you should try doing your make-up in some form of natural light? .e.g. Infront of a bedroom window...I do mine like that infront of a full lenth mirror.
But i'm afraid, natural light is a curse for us all...almost no one looks good in it.
i have the same problem but i dont use foundation-when im in the bathroom everything looks nice but in a different light its not so good(im 13)so maybe u should do ur make-up outside with a and mirror.also go to a mkaeup store so they could teach u how to apply it correctly
